Camino everyday

Sometimes its hard to remember the kind of peace of mind you get by walking the Camino de Santiago. And some days you see it in the dog dish.

We need a close-up

Just because it was such an impressive mess.

Saturday morning, a month ago

Actually this might be a Tuesday, but you get the picture

Saturday morning #2

Our neighborhood camel

He's been on the roof opposite our place for at least 20 years. He has new tassels though.

That guy is still feeding the damn rats

We now have the fattest rat population this side of a McDonald's dumpter. Kirby is over the moon. He thinks he can catch them now. I have heard about a man over on Stanton street that has two Jack Russel terriers whom he lets off leash every night to go rat hunting. One of the other dog walkers saw them in action the other week. Apparently he could rent them out for Friday the 13th movies if he wanted too...the carnage, oh the carnage....

View from the roof

The air was amazingly clear for New York today. Unlike Beijing. Where Cara is hard at work on her lung ailments: http://shamrockjews.blogspot.com/

Home at last

Kirby is on the right. Sam is the gremlin.

June 2001

Its slightly amazing, that in a 150 mile stretch of fairly similar landscape, I could find the same spot 4 years later. I clearly need a hobby outside of geography.

A million shades of brown

I keep telling people it was stark, but even pictures don't completely capture it.

Alexa asleep

This only happens for about a nanosecond. The most adorable nanosecond on earth.

San Santiago

We love our saint-saint around here. I just wish he were a bit less with the beheading.

What you can't see is the little plastic Jesus on the dashboard

Cab rides in New York require actual faith that flying through a windshield might not kill you....I still don't want to test it though.

Squatters rights

There really should be a cross on the lower tail of the "N" - but sometimes the people making these are in a hurry.

The beast from below

My niece was not pleased the other night. Must be Bush's policies and war in Iraq. Yeah, that's it.

Where are my organic jerky bits, woman!?

Cara requested a halloween photo

The blur is the fault of the photographer, not the drink. I swear.

Chicken idols

This is a very odd number of chickens attached to religious sites in rural Spain.
